Prevent Allergies This Fall With These Simple Tips

September 25, 2014 | Blog

When you begin to feel an evening chill in your South Texas home this fall you will want to make some preparations before you turn on your heat system.

Home comfort is important, especially for asthma and allergy sufferers. Preventing allergens being circulated through your heating system is an important step in keeping your home’s air clean this winter.

Follow these simple steps to keep your home allergy free this fall and winter

  • Researching expert advice on an air purification system for your home is a first important step in keeping your home air clean and allergen free.
  • You will want to make sure you have the best and most effective type of filter for your HVAC system. The  Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) of your filter is important and you will want to ask your  Coastal Bend area HVAC service technician about the best rating for the age of your home.
  • The good news for allergy sufferers is that along with getting expert advice and help on indoor air quality from your HVAC service provider, is that there are many steps you can take to prevent allergies.
    • Pet dander is one of the major causes of allergy symptoms. Having allergy testing for allergy sufferers in the family will identify if this is the problem.
    • House mites can be a big problem for some allergy sufferers.  Keeping your home clean with regular vacuuming will go a long way in helping with dust allergies. Also use of allergen-free bedding can be very helpful.
    • Mold can also be a nuisance for allergy sufferers. Taking steps to eliminate mold in your home can be an important step to prevent allergies. Make sure any water spills are dried up quickly.  Any leaky pipes or showers should be repaired as soon as possible to minimize the potential for mold and mildew growth.
    • Pollen is another trigger for many allergy sufferers. Keeping doors and windows closed during high pollen count months will keep your indoor air quality cleaner. After being outside shower and change clothes.

Great Company

Great company. Contacted my current AC company to check on my warranty before charging me anything. Saved me a bunch of money and headache if dealing with anything. Would definitely recommend them and use them again.
