The AC-Enhancer -- Enhanced Efficiency, Better Dehumidification

No matter how high the SEER rating is on your air conditioning system, it is still inefficient when it starts up. The addition of an AC-Enhancer will help solve this problem and reduce the start-up times of your air conditioning unit.

A/C units work by both cooling the air and removing moisture from the air (a process called dehumidification). In areas with humid climates, such as the Texas Gulf Coast, dehumidification is especially important to keep our homes comfortable. But most A/C units actually put more moisture into the air before they start removing it.

How most A/C units start up:

1. The inside coil is already wet from previous operations. The amount of water on the coils can be as much as three gallons.
2. The A/C turns on.
3. The blower fan turns on and blows warm air across the warm, wet coil.
4. The moisture on the coil is re-evaporated into the indoor air.
5. The unit continues to run, blowing both warm air and moisture into the air, until the coil cools down and becomes moist again.
6. After 8 to 12 minutes of ineffective running, the A/C unit finally starts the dehumidification process.

That 8 to 12 minutes it takes for your A/C unit to start working to cool and dehumidify your home is a waste of energy. It also obviously doesn’t make good sense for a unit to make the air more humid before dehumidifying it.

Conserve energy by adding an AC-Enhancer to your air conditioning unit. This control device will help your A/C start more efficiently and help it remove more moisture by:

• Utilizing the condensing unit to cool down the inside evaporator coil before the blower start-up.
• Turning on the blower AFTER the coil is completely cooled down and has started removing more moisture from the air.
• Allowing the compressor to start under a reduced load so that it can start more efficiently and reach its peak efficiency much faster.

With the AC-Enhancer, the amount of moisture that’s re-evaporated into the air at start-up will be drastically reduced thanks to the cool-down process before the blower fan is turned on. Not only will this save energy, but it also will increase the dehumidification capacity of your A/C unit.
