Drain Safety: Make Sure These Never Go Down a Drain

Drain Safety: Make Sure These Never Go Down a DrainAs a Corpus Christi homeowner, if you don’t exercise drain safety, then your pocketbook could be in for a world of hurt. Whatever you do, we would advise against putting any of these items down your drains:

Paper Type Products

Repeat after us: not all paper is flushable. Toilet paper and facial tissue are fine, as are other products that are designated as “flushable,” but items like paper towels, wipes, and cotton balls will do nothing but force you to call an HVAC professional.

Feminine Items

It is extremely common for feminine products to be flushed down a toilet on a regular basis, but this is horrible for your drains. All you have to do is throw these items into the trash.

Drain Cleaners

Homeowners love to do whatever they can themselves, and since there are so many drain cleaners on the market, it seems like a no-brainer for this to be another DIY project. Unfortunately, these products are corrosive and harmful. So, you can either call a plumber now or call them later for a much bigger problem.

Grease

It doesn’t take too long for grease pour down the sink to congeal and clog up. Instead of pouring out the grease or similar oils, put them in a container and toss it in the trash.

Medications

You might be surprised at the amount of pills that go unused in the United States every year, and many of those find their way into the water supply because people toss them down the drain. If you’re afraid of them being ingested, stick them in coffee grounds or kitty litter before throwing them in the garbage.

Pasta

Everyone knows that pasta increases in size when put in water, and the same thing happens in a drain. This ever-expanding food will collect in your drain, and before long, you have a mess in your pipes.

Great company. Contacted my current AC company to check on my warranty before charging me anything. Saved me a bunch of money and headache if dealing with anything. Would definitely recommend them and use them again.
