Football Watch Party: Comfort Concerns for Hosts

Football Watch Party: Comfort Concerns for HostsGetting friends and family together to watch football is always such an awesome experience, but it’s also one that comes with a big responsibility for homeowners as it relates to their comfort level. Let’s take a look at some party comfort concerns and what you can do to make everyone happy.

The Temperature Must Be Comfortable

First and foremost, you should be concerned with whether your friends and family are happy with the temperature of your home. Therefore, follow these tasks:

  • Conduct an Annual Inspection – Once a year, you need to schedule maintenance on your cooling system with a qualified technician. This should be done prior to organizing any kind of get-together.
  • Set the Thermostat Accordingly – Given the added body heat in your home, you may need to turn down the temperature more than usual, especially if everyone is huddled (pardon the pun) in a confined space.
  • Check the Thermostat’s Operation – It may be time to replace the thermostat’s batteries if they haven’t been switched out for a while.?

The Air Must Be Healthy

You must also ensure that the air your guests are breathing won’t irritate respiratory issues or cause illness. Follow these tasks to be sure:

  • Switch the Air Filter – When the air filter gets clogged, contaminants will no longer be captured, which means they’ll be distributed throughout your home. Check the filter and replace it, if necessary.
  • Vacuum with a HEPA Filter – The use of a vacuum with a HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filter will keep the vast majority of contaminants out of your air as you remove dust and debris from your floors.
  • Use an Air Cleaner – A great way to remove harmful contaminants from your home is by the use of an air cleaner. Just stick one in the room and let it work its magic. If you fear it’s too loud for use during the game, run it before guests arrive.?
