Home Comfort Birthday Party Considerations

January 17, 2019 | Blog

Home Comfort Birthday Party ConsiderationsIf you’re hosting events in the new year, the weather might be an issue, especially if a lot of people will be attending and the weather might be warm. Party considerations in the summer don’t usually include the weather since it’s always hot, but in the winter, weather that’s warm could overheat your home.

People create heat. Each adult at your party will be emitting heat somewhere around 98.6 degrees F. If you have a lot of guests and they’re in a small room, it could get uncomfortably warm. Chances are people will be wearing winter clothing that will make them even more uncomfortable should the temperature creep into the mid to high 70s indoors.

How to Plan

The National Weather Service’s 10-day forecasts are fairly accurate as far as temperatures go. They do include rain along with its chances. As you plan the party, check the weather forecast for the day before the party and the day of.

If it’s going to be warm, you may want to revisit your party considerations. It might be a better idea to adjust your menu to serve warm-weather food instead of winter fare. You may want to get some window fans out to place in the windows or dust off the ceiling fan blades.

Air Conditioner Readiness

If you think you may need the air conditioner, test it first. Make sure the air filter is clean and the outdoor condenser is clean and not blocked by vegetation or yard items. Warm your home to the mid-70s first and then change the thermostat settings from heat to cool.

Turn the temperature down a few degrees cooler and wait for the A/C to start. It should just take a minute to start running. If it doesn’t or the air doesn’t feel cool, call Mathews CCAC for air conditioning service. It might be a quick fix to get it up and running.

Keeping your home at a comfortable temperature ranks high among important party considerations. If you’d like to schedule an A/C inspection, contact CCAC. We provide HVAC services for Coastal Bend homeowners.

Great Company

Great company. Contacted my current AC company to check on my warranty before charging me anything. Saved me a bunch of money and headache if dealing with anything. Would definitely recommend them and use them again.
