Why Your Christmas List Should Include a New HVAC System

New HVAC SystemWe’re guessing that your Christmas list this year includes a bunch of gifts for the loved ones in your life. But why not celebrate the holiday with a brand-new HVAC system that you and your entire household can enjoy for many years to come? To help you out, here are a few simple reasons why it might be time for an upgrade.

Your System Is More Than 10 to 15 Years Old

Like all machinery, HVAC systems don’t last forever and need to be replaced at some point. If your air conditioner is more than 10 years old, it may be time to purchase a new system. As for your furnace, those will typically last 15 years before requiring a replacement.

Your Energy Bills Are Going Up

If you’ve been noticing that your energy bills have been going up lately, there’s a good chance that the HVAC system isn’t running as efficiently as it should. As a bonus, newer systems are more energy-efficient than ever, which means you’ll save even more on your monthly energy bill.

Your System Is Not Working Very Well Anymore

If your home is too hot or too cold, the system that you’re using is probably beginning to falter a bit. You can try replacing the thermostat with a more advanced model, but if that doesn’t work, it’s time to look into picking up a new piece of equipment.

Your Repair Costs Have Risen

Every HVAC system will eventually need to be repaired every once in a while, but once those costs have risen, it may be time for a replacement. As a general rule, if the cost to repair the system is more than half the cost of a new unit, it makes more sense to get a new one than to have it fixed.
